"START THE DAY OFF RIGHT!"

If you want to show up each day for yourself and be able to be present, awake & functioning these tips will definitely help you with, just that.
Ever think that you may be indirectly self sabotaging yourself? Sounds crazy right, but it’s true. Adulting is not where it’s at, but a big part of it is making sensible choices. A few of which includes doing things that you will benefit from the next day.
· Pick Out Your Outfit The Night Before – Iron anything that needs to be ironed – If you’re anything like me, I absolutely hate ironing, so if it doesn’t get ironed the night before, it will surely get worn BUT it won’t get ironed at all (sorry not sorry). Try this next time, take out your clothes the night before, straight down to your undergarments. This helps tremendously in the morning, why? Because you don’t have to spend unnecessary time trying to figure out what fits and what doesn’t (blame all that Christmas food).
· Pack Any Leftovers For Lunch & Put Whatever Non-perishables In Your Lunch Bag – One of the ways I try to save money is by not eating out frequently. This means that every opportunity I get to pack leftovers…I DO! Sometimes I pack them before I even eat dinner (sorry not sorry). Make life a little easier for yourself by packing your lunch the night before including putting any non-perishable snacks in you lunch bag.
· Cleanup Any Remaining Dishes – Wakeup to a clean room / house. I low key think that I have a cleaning obsession, but anyway I digress. I love to wake up to a clean house / kitchen. If you can try to clean the dishes after you use them do that,. This ensure that, 1. They don’t pile up, 2. You don’t have to spend time washing the only spoon that you have because you used it the previous night to eat your favorite ice cream (sorry not sorry).
· Get Up A Bit Earlier – Honestly…this is annoying most days HOWEVER it helps so much! Try getting up 30-40 minutes earlier, and you will see how it makes the world of a difference. This allows extra time that you can spend with God, get in some you time, read a chapter from that book you you’ve been procrastinating reading etc.
· Make Time for God – This is so important! If I don’t start the day with some Jesus time, it doesn’t sit well with me. I NEED that time to refocus and prepare for whatever the day may bring. Read your devotional, take time for a prayer, journal etc. Do whatever you need to, to realign yourself with the one above.
· Start Hydrating – In the mornings, I love to start the day by hydrating my body. I always keep water conveniently located on my night stand and this helps me to remember to drink water as much as possible. P.S. this also aids in getting the bowls flowing (sorry not sorry).
· Eat a Hearty & Balanced Breakfast – THIS IT HERE! I’ve grown to be a tea and breakfast lover. With the job that I have, I NEED a hearty breakfast and something hot in my system every morning. I always have a cup of green tea in the mornings and usually either tuna and grits, a tuna sandwich or egg, turkey bacon and grits. I love sugary breakfasts like waffles & pancakes but honestly aint no one has time to make, that plus it isn’t the balance meal that my body craves. I typically make tuna on Sundays and this will last for about three days, which is great because It’s already prepared and ready to eat.
I can go on and on about other ways that can help you get a great start to your day, but the tips shared are a good basis for you to consider.
